Abstract

Within this ecosystem, Apple’s iOS platform remains one of the most profitable and competitive environments for mobile application distribution, offering developers multiple monetization pathways. These include in-app purchases, subscription-based models, advertising integration, freemium structures, and hybrid revenue systems. As competition within the app store intensifies, developers are increasingly required to adopt monetization strategies that balance revenue generation with user satisfaction and long-term engagement. This study evaluates the effectiveness of different iOS app monetization strategies by examining their financial performance, user acceptance, engagement outcomes, and impact on user experience. The research investigates how various monetization models influence key performance indicators such as revenue generation, user retention, customer lifetime value (CLV), churn rate, and average revenue per user (ARPU). It also explores user attitudes toward different monetization mechanisms, including willingness to pay, tolerance for advertisements, and perceived value of premium features.
